Adulting

So a little peak into my life latey:

The other night I got out of the shower after 10pm and had an intense craving for frozen yogurt. So I went. Just threw on some sweats, put a headband in my wet hair, and went.

I have developed a keen awkwardness around males. I used to be a very smooth flirt in front of the fellas. But I am here to tell you there is nothing smooth about gasping, spilling your drink, and tripping when you see a shirtless guy at work (yes this happened).

Speaking of tripping, and guys...this happened again the other day. I was walking out of my job and didn't clear a gate when I was stepping over it. This resulted in me falling and knocking over every other section of the gate in a quite impressive domino fashion. And bonus! It was in front of a guy I have a very school-girl-like crush on.

I literally hid my phone for an entire day to avoid real life.  I wanted to continue this, and still would be, but I realized I pay for that dang thing. Bills suck yo.

I stayed up till 3 for the past couple of weeks laughing my butt off at Urkel on Family Matters all alone in my room like a crazy person. This was regretted every time my alarm went off early the next morning for work, but not changed. I have my priorities.

Speaking of Urkel, my mom surprised me and gave me a Steve Urkel doll she found at an antique store and I squealed almost as loud as I did when my sister and I scored front row One Direction tickets.

And one more "McKenzie is awkward around guys" story. While I was at work recently, I was having a rough day, which prompted a heart-to-heart with the cat of the family I work for. It was all fine and dandy till the guy I work for walked in and caught me talking to it.

And there ya have it, welcome to adulting folks.

Heck Yes I Was A Teeny Bopper

Last week I wrote about winning tickets to the Mixtape fest!! And this week I was able to be a teeny bopper all over again and experience two days of awesomeness!!  The tickets I won were to both days of the fest and it was EPIC.
I got to see tons of people I wanted to...and some I didn't....
(ahem... Steel Panther/ vulgar 80's hair band, DJ Pauly D....cough cough) ...
but there was Kelly Clarkson, LL Cool J (NCIS LA anyone?), The Fray, The Wanted, Carly Rae Jepson (so call me maybe!), New Kids On The Block two times, The Ready Set, and who I came for.....
THE BACKSTREET BOYS and 98 DEGREES!!
And there may have been some girly squeals, serious booty shaking, swoons, and major Nick Lachey crushing going on... it was a BLAST! And now, I will let the photos speak for themselves:

thanks to my little sister for stealing the pictures from her camera!

The Hot German Life Guard Who Gave Me Sun Poisoning

I just got back from my first vacation in 5 years!!! (9 if you don't count that "vacation" driving across the country 5 people to a 5 passenger car in the middle of the summer in 2007)
I had SUCH a good week!! I feel so refreshed,  that is, when I am not moving...
because every move I make hurts...
and this is why:

(right-me, left-my sis. pardon the immodesty, it hurts to wear anything but tank tops and even that is pushing it)

Yeah, painful. Real painful. And this picture doesn't even begin to do it justice, haha. I am seriously red. I look like  I am wearing a white bathing suit top over a red jumpsuit.
 Hot, I know ;)
I ended my awesome vacation getting incredibly sick with sun poisoning...i.e. chills, hot flashes, nausea, aches, etc. Not fun.
So the moral of the story is: WEAR SUN SCREEN YO! Especially if you are fair skinned, and NO MATTER how distracted you are by the hot, blonde, German life guard watching you at the pool.

Tuned In Tuesday

So this past October my sister Hannah and I drove to Philly to see one of my absolute favorite bands, There For Tomorrow, oh boy I love this band.  Hence Kamrada being the name for my car
Well anyway...we went there and they were one out 5 bands which meant their set was going to be pretty darn short.  We were WAY anxious to see them, and they were supposed to be coming on second...first band goes on and off and then they start setting up for the second band. Hannah and I waited and waited and were looking at the equipment and they guys tuning their instruments thinking "hey, thats not christian's guitar," and "those aren't chris's drums...wait..."....then...a bunch of guys who were NOT There For Tomorrow started a song...OH NO THEY DIDNT!! We were freaking out to ourselves...until the lead singer came on...
Ok...maybe this isnt so bad....
...then....
 he spoke...
and yes, he had a BRITISH ACCENT.
 *insert swoon here*.
Ok, I am pretty sure we can wait ONE more band for There For Tomorrow:)

I have been OBSESSED with this song by his band, You Me At Six....I have seriously listened to it like 150 times over the past 3 days.
Turn the Volume up
Press play
Enjoy.
And feel free to swim in the pools that are his blue eyes with me.

My Heart Will Go On

Let me just say that one of my absolute, all time, FAVORITE movies ever is Titanic. Period. I remember learning about the Titanic in the 3rd grade and ever since have been fascinated with it's story...I've been to the exhibits for it like 5 times, I own like 100 books about it, and when the movie came out when I was like 9 or 10 and my mom said I couldn't see it, I was SO bummed! I waited for the day I was 13 and could watch it...and after thousands of times watching it since then and thinking over and over again
"Gee, I wish they would re-release this into theaters so I can see it on the big screen"
 low and behold...
DUN DUN DUN............. April 4, 2012, in 3D on IMAX.....I am SO there. With popcorn. And tissues.

I.cannot.stinking.wait. Seriously, every time a commercial comes on for this I get the goosebumps.
Who's with me?!
And seeing pictures like this helps me live in my delusion that Jack is alive and him and Rose are together.  "I'll never let go, Jack." :D

Oh Leo, how I love your pretty, pretty face:)

Kamrada Jason DiCaprio

So, I got my first car this past fall.  And I love him. Way, way much.  And because I love him so very much, I had to name him after someone I love very much:)  At first, it was just "Kamrada", but then, I gave him a middle and last name. Now it's:

Oh, the hottness. And boy, was it hard to narrow it down to just one picture of each of these beautiful men. But somebody had to do it;)

I think Kamrada Jason DiCaprio is a very strong name for my car.  They should have me in charge of naming countries or something:)

What I Know is, it's time for a Tuesday Tune

So this is Parachute...and let me just say I LOVE this band. I have been blessed to see them live 4 times so far and out of the 150+ bands I have seen, they are easily in the top 3. SO good. And you know I gotta say it, SO hot...and SO nice. I've met and talked with them a few times. Amazing guys, AMAZING music.

Ooo la la.

I know I say this every week, but this song needs to be listened to loudly.  And preferably in the car.  Isn't there just something about listening to music with tthe volume up and the window down while you drive?
I wouldn't recommend the window being down here in the middle of winter.  Even though here in PA it is a lot warmer than normal...still...you might want to wait till spring for the window down thing.  But you can still go get this song, and play it nice and loud in your car.

Press Play. Listen. Repeat.

My lungs hurt, but my eyes are happy:)

So I have been on my deathbed coughing, achey, and icky for 4 days now. Ok, not really, but sometimes it feels like it. The flu is no fun. Maybe its bronchitis. I'll never know because I have an aversion to doctors. haha. But oh sweet Nyquil, thank goodness I can get some sleep because of you.

And thank you Tom Welling, for entertaining me and my eyes with your beautiful, beautiful face and tearing at my heartstrings and nerves via Smallville Season 4.  Seriously, I went through a whole disc last night alone.  Can you blame me?  I think not.

I guess I have to try to pace myself because Smallville just ended and that means I only have 6 seasons left to watch.   Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I get by with a little help from....not this state!

Oh boy.  They say that there is "opposition in all things". I am here to tell you, TRUE DAT! Why does everything have to be so complicated?
For example: if you buy a car in another state, its a big stinking deal to register it for your own state. Is it just me or should you just be able to walk into the notary place with the title with YOUR name on it and proof of insurance and they check things and BAM they give you your state's stickers.
Not that simple my friends, not that simple.  If you have all this stuff, they can still decide you need other forms and you have to get in contact with the dealer to overnight them to you because your temp tags expire in a matter of a few days because somebody was a procrastinator (oops, that was me).
Boy oh boy, what happened to the days were you could plop down your money, get the car, and its yours and it doesnt matter where you take it? I wasn't alive for them, but I am pretty sure they existed.

BUT on the bright side, after years of hoping and dreaming and praying (haha) I was finally able to get my car. Meet Kamrada, the Camry.
And he is now inspected and registered and even wonderfuler!

And I may or may not have named him after this smokin' hot hunka hunka burnin' love, aka the best drummer my eyes have ever been blessed to hear and see, Chris Kamrada:

And yes, I am pretty sure you could ice skate across those big, beautiful, smooth lips.  Just sayin' :)
